Blythe style

New York-based photographer Gina Garan met Blythe by chance, and the two became fast friends. Blythe's twelve original outfits included such early '70s marvels as the Pretty Paisley, Golden Goddess, Pow Wow Poncho, and the Lounging Lovely, with Lemon, Strawberry, Lime, and Blueberry wigs. Although Blythe has her own ideas about fashion ("Wear the clothes, don't let the clothes wear you."), Gina lovingly crafts Blythe's style for the book This Is Blythe. Gina owns all Blythe's original fashions but more often makes custom outfits for her—she's been known to whip up an outfit from a pair of glitter pantyhose when the need arises—with accessories culled from her collection of more than 2,000 dolls. Blythe and Gina's photographs have become very popular in art and celebrity circles.
